The Sd.Kfz.2 Kettenkraftrad, also known as the Kettenkrad, was a unique half-track motorcycle used by the German Army during World War II. This vehicle was designed and manufactured by NSU Motorenwerke AG in 1939.

The Kettenkrad was originally designed for airborne troops and could be transported by a Junkers Ju 52 aircraft.

It was the lightest mass-produced German military motorcycle with a complex system of overlapping wheels, which was used on most German half-track vehicles.

The vehicle was equipped with a four-cylinder Opel engine and had a top speed of 70 km/h.

The Kettenkrad was capable of traversing difficult terrain and was often used on the Eastern Front to lay communication cables, haul heavy loads and transport troops. Later in the war it was also used as an aircraft tractor, particularly for the Messerschmitt Me 2621.

The Kettenkrad was one of the most unusual vehicles of World War II, and its design and functionality made it a valuable tool for the German army.
